Chemical Functional Genomics

The Liau Lab studies how proteins interact and function in space and time and how these interactions can be chemically modulated for therapeutic applications.
We are collaborative and multidisciplinary, combining organic chemistry, cell and molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and large-scale genetic screening in our research approach.
Our science
We're a multidisciplinary group of scientists from all walks of science, including chemical biology, cell and molecular biology, organic synthesis, biochemistry, and functional genomics. As part of an interdisciplinary research program, trainees tackle problems at the interface of chemical biology and genomics using a diverse array of techniques.

A lot of changes in our lab. First, the lab welcomes two first-year graduate students, Arjun Garapaty and Camille Freedman! We’re excited to have them as part of our team. Second, late last year, we bid farewell to Dr. Hui Si Kwok and Dr. Emma Garcia and wish them all the best with their next academic steps. We will also miss Dr. Megan Yeo as she starts her new position in Amgen.
